The Carlsberg Challenge

Image
I was standing at the London underground tube station one day, when I saw probably the most honest billboard advertisment in the world. It was the new advertiment from Carlsberg. They admitted that their beer is probably not the best in the world, they focused on quantity rather than quality. I took a picture of this billboard then tweeted: To my surprise Carlsberg offered to send us 6 snap pack of their new brew Carlsberg Pilsner for us to try, which we gratefully recieved. We have never been so excited to try a Carlsberg before. We at Bar Hop Cousins thought we would share the experience by creating a few YouTube videos: Unboxing and taste test Blindfold Taste Test: Carlsberg vs Fosters Blindfold Taste Test: Carlsberg vs Carlsberg Pilsner

Our Top 5 Pub Crawls

Image
Follow @barhopcousins So here's our Top 5 pub crawls. We couldn't decide which order to put these in...so we didn't! If you try any of these, we would love to hear your stories (if you can remember them!), so please do let us know. Either in the comments, twitter or barhopcousins@gmail.com . The bar hop cousins have a funny family tree, we are spread out the length and breadth of the land.  We cover all parts of the UK as well as Eastern Europe, probably further afield too.  For today’s blog I want to concentrate on a crawl we did in Northern Ireland.  Now the history of Northern Ireland is complex, far too complex for an idiot like me to try to summarize, I will leave that to far better educated folk than myself.  I want trivia not a history lesson! – So, as an example, The anchor for the SS Great Britain is on display along the sea wall.  And one of Bristol’s crown jewels is…. The rest of the SS great Britain!  See how is that for trivia? So before I start I want to give you an idea of the crawl we had in a place called Newcastle.  “But why on earth are you going on about Northern Ireland? If you now go on about Newcastle!?” I hear you ask.  Well this Newcastle is in County Down, situated about an hour south of Belfast....
